Hey there!
When I started this blog in 2018, I was drawn to the idea of chronicling my adventures and dipping my toe into publishing my own writing. Ever since I was a child I have always loved reading about other people’s stories and experiences, whether that be through books or magazines and figured it was about time to put my own out there. Nearly two years later that interest had evolved into an unstoppable love of writing and off I went to get my Master’s degree in Journalism and Communications from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
I am currently working as a communications professional in Toronto, Ontario but continue to share my travel writing, book reviews, journalism, photography, and other ramblings here with all of you. I also take on freelance projects in all of these areas so feel free to contact me on social media if you’re interested in working together.
An insatiable sense of wanderlust has always been in my blood — by the time I was 10 months old I had been to the Bahamas, Antigua, and Seattle. That love has, clearly, never gone away. I think that travelling and experiencing other countries and cultures makes us better people and helps us to remember our collective history as a civilization. My double major in History and Art History from the University of Toronto has likely influenced this opinion and also may explain why much of my travel centres around old buildings and museums (as well as why the stories occasional feature a historical tangent.)
Anyway, I hope you decide to stay and join me, cup of tea in one hand, glass of wine in the other, as I figure out what comes next and read about all the adventures along the way. — Mackenzie
